Welcome to Newcastle

Welcome!

The Newcastle Upon Tyne Methodist district welcomed Revd. Stephen Lindridge as their new chair of district tonight. The welcome service took place at St Marks Methodist church in Gateshead and was well attended by people from across the district

and connexion.

The service was led by Revd. Carla Quenet and Revd. Kathryn Stephens along with others.  The readings came from John 21:15-19 and Acts 2:42-47 and four preachers brought reflections on Wesley’s quadrilateral (tradition, scripture, reason and experience).

The core message from these was that as Christians within the Methodist church we need to reimagine, refresh and recreate what we do to build God’s Kingdom.

Stephen was welcomed by local ecumenical partners and connexional representatives before he and his family were prayed over as they begin this leg of their journey.

The welcome service is online here thanks to Premiere Radio.

You can find out more information about Stephen on our Who we are or District team pages or by reading his first letter here.
